The Nexx XR1R Full-Face Helmet Review

I’ve been riding motorcycles for almost as long as I can remember.

As a kid, I used to compete in dirt bike races and motocross, and I have always felt the most comfortable when riding.

I used to drive a car for work, and I hated it.

……………. Sitting in traffic with the radio blaring is nothing compared to the feel of the wind on your body as you weave through the parked cars on the freeway.

Recently, though, I got involved in a minor collision. I wasn’t terribly hurt, but my helmet took a beating and became useless. Even though I had used that helmet for years, once it became dented, I knew I had to replace it.

That’s when I found the Nexx XR1R Full-Face Helmet. Today I’ll be talking to you about the different kinds of motorcycle helmets you can buy, and why the XR1R helmet should be at the top of your list.

Benefits of a Motorcycle Helmet

If you talk to anyone who rides a bike on a daily basis, odds are he or she has been involved in some kind of collision or accident.

Whether it’s hitting a car or flying over a pothole, riding is much more dangerous than driving, for no other reason than the fact that you’re completely exposed.

When it comes to saving a life, the proper helmet can mean the difference between walking away from a collision and becoming a permanent addition to the pavement. Here are the top reasons you need to wear a helmet while riding.

  • Protect your face and head in case of a collision
  • Reduce glare from the sun
  • Lower the amount of “road noise” you experience
  • Aerodynamic

At the end of the day, however, wearing a proper helmet is just plain common sense. If you value your health and safety, then you need to have the proper safety gear.

Helmet Types

While the nexx xr1r is a full-face helmet, there are actually a wide variety of motorcycle helmets from which you can choose. Here is a breakdown of the most popular models.

This helmet type can switch between a full-face and a three-quarter helmet with a flip of the front end. While I don’t recommend riding this way, a modular helmet can be helpful if you want to get a better vision, scratch your nose, or do anything that is more comfortable without a helmet covering your face.

Full Face

If you commute on your motorcycle, a full-face helmet is a must. Both to protect you better in the event of a collision and to make sure that you comply with all federal and local laws regarding motorcycle safety.

As the name would suggest, this model type covers your entire head and uses a face shield to protect your eyes.

If you compete in motocross or any other kind of racing sport, then you need a racing helmet. This model is similar to a full-face helmet, but usually, racing models are designed to work with goggles instead of a face shield. Also, racing helmets often provide more space in the front for breathing.

Open Face

For casual riders or those who don’t mind the occasional bug in their face, an open-face helmet is exactly what it sounds like, a helmet that covers most of your head but not the face.

The benefit of nexx helmet model is that you have more range of vision, and you don’t have to take your helmet off to do a variety of activities.

Final Verdict

Since I replaced my old helmet with the Nexx XR1R Full-Face Helmet,

I have been supremely satisfied with the performance. I barely even notice that it’s there since it’s so lightweight and relatively quiet. I’ve used a lot of helmets in my day, and noise is a huge issue for me, so I love the fact that my ears aren’t bombarded with sound throughout my ride.

The design is slick and professional, and I like the fact that I can remove the padding for cleaning purposes. After riding several days back to back in the summertime, my helmet can get a little rank, so I like that I can do something about that.

Overall, the XR1R helmet is my new favorite motorcycle accessory
